Novels of Post-9-11 Computer Security

Thesis:

Bruce Sterling's The Zenith Angle is about five times better, both as a novel and as policy-corrective, than is Richard Clarke's Breakpoint.

I don't remember the priest telling me when I went to Confession when I was a kid, "Well, Lance, it was wrong of you to disobey your mom and talk back to her like that, but since you set the table every night and do your homework and sent your aunt a birthday card, what the heck! I quit reading Sterling a while back, as I was too dumb to get why everybody else thinks he's so fab, so I fail at adding any meaningful comparison.

I comment only because I just finished "Breakpoint" which has a firm and entertaining grasp of the WDC characters that populate the book, and which was well written and researched.

The desperate need of a noncartooonish bad guy, better plot, and coherent ending makes the bar for besting it pretty low, I'd imagine.
